🚶Walking is the most underrated activity on Earth

Beginning of a new week.

You don’t need a perfect workout to move more.

🚶 A daily walk counts.

Studies consistently show that higher daily step counts are associated with better heart health and lower mortality risk.

And pace matters too.

A new study of 64,743 adults found that different combinations of step count and walking pace were associated with lower risks of all-cause and cardiovascular mortality.

For people taking <5,000 steps/day, a faster walking pace was associated with substantially lower risk.

Taking 5,000–7,500 steps/day at a slower pace was associated with a similar benefit.

The lowest risk was observed around 7,500–10,000 steps/day, regardless of pace.

And among people taking fewer than 7,500 steps/day, maintaining a faster pace for ≥30 minutes/day was associated with progressively lower mortality risk.

You don't need to hit 10,000 steps.

You don't even need to walk fast all day.

Move more. Walk with purpose when you can. Be consistent.
