Before Computers, Humans Imagined Artificial Intelligence
Long before modern AI existed, people dreamed of creating machines that could think and act like humans.
In ancient Greek mythology, the god Hephaestus was said to create mechanical servants, while Talos was a giant bronze figure that guarded the island of Crete. These stories imagined artificial beings capable of performing tasks independently, thousands of years before computers existed.
Fast-forward to 1206, when inventor Al-Jazari described sophisticated automated machines, including programmable musical devices and mechanical servants.
From ancient myths to ingenious inventions, humanity's fascination with artificial intelligence has a surprisingly long history.
