Familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) is an inherited condition that can cause very high LDL-C from a young age and increase the risk of premature heart disease.

🔎 Think FH when you see:

• LDL-C ≥190 mg/dL

• Premature heart disease

• Family history of high cholesterol or early heart attacks

• Tendon xanthomas

🧬 FH runs in families. Finding it early means we can identify affected relatives and start treatment sooner.

Know your LDL. Know your family history.

Don’t dismiss LDL-C ≥190 mg/dL as “just high cholesterol.”
