Robots That Go Where Humans Can’t

When earthquakes, fires, floods, or building collapses happen, sending people into dangerous areas can be extremely risky.

That’s where specialized robots could make a difference. Future rescue robots may be able to crawl through rubble, search damaged buildings, detect signs of life, deliver supplies, or send back real-time information to emergency crews.

Some robots are already being developed for disaster response—but the next generation could become smaller, smarter, and capable of navigating environments that are too dangerous for humans.
