Dogs Can Smell Time!

Dogs have an incredible sense of smell—and some research suggests they may use changes in familiar scents to help understand how much time has passed.

When you leave the house, your scent gradually changes and becomes less concentrated. Your dog may be able to detect these subtle changes and use them as one clue for when you might return.

So when your dog seems to know that you’re about to come home… their nose might actually be helping them keep track of time! 🐾
