CardioOracle: Clinical Intelligence Built by a Practicing Cardiologist

Medicine is advancing at an extraordinary pace. Every day, physicians, especially cardiologists, face the same quiet crisis: the volume of new evidence is growing faster than any of us can keep up with.

New clinical trials are published constantly. AHA/ACC Guidelines, Expert Consensus Decision Pathways (ECDPs), AHA/ACC Scientific Statements, Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC), and white papers are continually updated. Yet at the point of care, we still too often rely on memory, outdated PDFs, scattered web searches, or general purpose AI tools that may confidently provide inaccurate or fabricated citations.

Cardiovascular medicine practiced 10 years ago is remarkably different from cardiovascular medicine today. The challenge is no longer simply finding information. It is finding the right, current, and trustworthy evidence at the moment you need it.

I built CardioOracle to solve exactly this problem.

CardioOracle is a free, proprietary, AI powered clinical intelligence platform designed specifically for cardiovascular medicine. It was created by a practicing cardiologist for physicians, trainees, and anyone who needs reliable, evidence based cardiovascular health information, quickly, consistently, and grounded in the strongest available evidence, including cardiologist vetted clinical trials, state of the art reviews, and high quality meta analyses.

Why CardioOracle?

One of the biggest problems in modern medicine is information overload. The evidence exists, but finding and interpreting it efficiently during a busy clinical day can be difficult.

Table 1 illustrates the types of questions that physicians and patients ask every day.

These are not obscure questions. They are the kinds of questions that arise in real clinical practice and in real conversations with patients.

CardioOracle is designed to reduce the friction between these questions and the evidence needed to answer them.

Two Modes for Two Different Needs

Healthcare Professional Mode

Healthcare Professional Mode provides precise medical terminology and clinically focused answers for cardiologists, physicians, trainees, and other healthcare professionals.

It is designed for questions that arise during patient care, clinical decision making, documentation, studying, and everyday cardiovascular practice.

Patient Education Mode

Patient Education Mode takes a different approach.

It translates cardiovascular concepts into clear, understandable language so patients and learners can better understand topics such as lipid management, blood pressure control, medications, stress testing, cardiac catheterization, cardiovascular procedures, and what to expect before and after an intervention.

The goal is not to replace the physician patient relationship. The goal is to help patients better understand their cardiovascular health and have better informed conversations with their physicians.

Both modes prioritize curated, reliable medical sources.

Current Cardiovascular Guidelines and Evidence

CardioOracle is designed to search and synthesize current recommendations and evidence from major cardiovascular organizations, including ACC, AHA, SCAI, HFSA, ASE, and HRS.

In addition to guidelines and consensus documents, the platform incorporates human curated landmark clinical trials and high-quality meta-analyses relevant to cardiovascular practice.

The goal is to move beyond simply retrieving documents. CardioOracle is designed to help users find and understand the evidence that is most relevant to the clinical question at hand.

Intelligent Clinical Documentation

CardioOracle can also assist with common clinical writing tasks, including:

The goal is not to generate more text.

The goal is to reduce the administrative burden that takes physicians away from patient care.

Evidence First

CardioOracle is built around a simple principle:

Clinical answers should be grounded in evidence.

The platform prioritizes current guidelines, consensus documents, peer reviewed literature, landmark clinical trials, and high-quality meta-analyses, with particular emphasis on evidence supporting strong clinical recommendations.

I have also invested significant effort in reducing hallucinations, improving source selection, and making citations as reliable and transparent as possible.

I do not claim that CardioOracle can completely eliminate hallucinations. No current AI system can make that guarantee. My goal is to minimize them as much as possible through careful source selection, evidence curation, system design, and continuous refinement.

At the same time, CardioOracle generates AI assisted responses, and I cannot guarantee that every AI generated response will be correct. Users should independently evaluate the information and use appropriate clinical judgment, particularly when making decisions about individual patients. Patients should verify any health information with their physicians.

CardioOracle is not an AI replacement for a physician. It is designed to help bridge the information gap between patients, physicians, and the best available cardiovascular evidence.

No AI system should be considered infallible, and CardioOracle is not a substitute for clinical judgment.

The goal is to build a system that is as evidence grounded, transparent, and clinically useful as possible.

For Physicians: Augmenting, Not Replacing, Clinical Judgment

CardioOracle was never intended to replace physicians.

The goal is to remove the friction between the clinical question in your mind and the best available evidence.

Whether you are writing a progress note at 2 a.m., preparing a prior authorization, counseling a patient, reviewing a new guideline, making a clinical decision, or studying for boards, CardioOracle is designed around the way cardiovascular medicine is actually practiced.

The priority is speed, usefulness, and trustworthiness, not flashy features.

For Patients: Making Cardiovascular Knowledge More Accessible

Patients increasingly have access to enormous amounts of medical information, but access to information does not necessarily mean access to understandable, reliable information.

CardioOracle's Patient Education Mode is designed to help bridge that gap.

Patients can explore cardiovascular topics using plain language explanations grounded in evidence, helping them better understand their conditions, medications, testing, procedures, and prevention strategies.

Most importantly, this information is intended to support, not replace, conversations with their physicians.

Built From a Clinical Need

CardioOracle started as an MVP that I built in my free time using Python.

I built it because I knew what physicians and patients needed from everyday cardiovascular practice.

The current version is still a work in progress. I am continuously refining the interface, performance, clinical search capabilities, source curation, and overall user experience based on feedback from early users.

There is still a long way to go.

But the current version is already capable of providing meaningful clinical utility, and I believe the next iterations can make it substantially better.
